    Impactos de un programa virtual holístico sobre estado nutricional, hábitos alimentares, nivel de actividad física y salud en adultos con sobrepeso u obesidad

    Resumen

    Se evaluó un programa virtual de adelgazamiento holístico (cuerpo, mente y alimentación), con el objetivo de transformar hábitos alimentarios, actividad física y mejorar la salud en 28 voluntarios con IMC > 27,5. La intervención orientó a moderar alimentos con alta densidad calórica, preferir alimentos con alta densidad nutricional y moderar la carga glucémica de las comidas. Para facilitar los cambios se emplearon refuerzos virtuales periódicos: vídeos, encuentros semanales, foro y contactos individuales. Además, contó con apoyo conductual y psicológico: terapia cognitivo-conductual, consciencia plena (mindfulness), control del estrés, reducción del ciclo restricción-frustración-culpa y espiral de mejora continua. Se observó un aumento estadísticamente significativo en el consumo de frutas dulces, hojas verdes y frutos no dulces, junto con una disminución de cereales, tubérculos amiláceos, leguminosas, derivados lácteos, alimentos de origen animal procesados y aceites/grasas refinadas. El tiempo medio semanal de actividad física pasó de 185 min a 241 min (estadísticamente significativo), superando los 150 min recomendados por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS). En 12 semanas, se constató una disminución media, estadísticamente significativa, de 5,6 kg (~6,8 % del peso inicial). Programas existentes demoran el doble del tiempo o más para conseguir el mismo resultado. Además, se tuvo reducción de 3,3 kg de grasa total y 1,5 kg de grasa visceral. Se informaron mejoras en la salud y comorbilidades, sin efectos negativos. La tasa de abandono fue del 14 %, significativamente inferior a programas similares. En síntesis, el programa virtual alcanzó íntegramente sus objetivos, revelándose como una alternativa prometedora para alcanzar un adelgazamiento saludable.
