Introducción: Evaluar la eficacia de la suplementación con omega-3, curcumina y colágeno sobre la recuperación del daño muscular inducido por el ejercicio . Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de 15 ensayos clínicos para la discusión, además de revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis para la contextualización del tema. Para el análisis de estudios, se tuvieron en cuenta aquellos que involucrasen los suplementos mencionados y una pauta deportiva para inducir el daño muscular. Salvo excepciones puntuales, los ensayos analizados tienen un máximo de cinco años de antigüedad y están únicamente realizados en humanos. Resultados: Las intervenciones prolongadas con dosis más altas de N-3 afectaron positivamente al EIMD, mientras que dosis más pequeñas y durante periodos más cortos no mostraron esos efectos. La suplementación con curcumina no modificó de manera significative ni los marcadores inflamatorios ni los relacionados con el daño muscular. Finalmente, la suplementación con colágeno prolongada atenuó la percepción del dolor y redujo los biomarcadores de dolor muscular. La heterogeneidad de las dosis, duración y protocolos reafirma la necesidad de estudios futuros con metodologías estandarizadas . Discusión: La evidencia actual es mixta, no permitiendo realizar recomendaciones clínicas definitivas. Se requieren más estudios, con mayor espacio muestral y menos sesgados para definir pautas sólidas sobre la efectividad o no de los distintos suplementos evaluados.
